Admission Schedule and Deadlines

​​​​Students applying to the Nursing Program should be mindful of the schedule and deadlines to submit paperwork or take action.

The following schedule is for the 2021 program.

Now-Aug​. 31 Transcript preevaluation and course substitutions completed. Please contact the nursing office for the forms and procedures at Brookhaven.

Coursework taken outside of Dallas College must be evaluated. Course substitutions are required for all courses not matching our curriculum plan. This includes courses taken at other Dallas College campuses.
Now-July 31Email your immunization records to be reviewed by the Brookhaven school nurse at mkelley1@dcccd.edu
May 23, June 20, July 18, Sept. 19, Oct. 17 and Nov. 21Dosage Calculations Exam will be offered online on the stated dates. You can register online or email brianaw@dcccd.edufor the Dosage Calculations Workshop. There are three times to test and pay for Summer and three times to test and pay for Fall.
Sept. 1-14 HESI A2 testing is available online through Elsevier. Subject areas include: reading, grammar, vocabulary, math and anatomy & physiology sections. You can pay and set up your time starting August 17, 2020.
Sept. 16-30 By 12 p.m. on September 30, 2020, all applications for nursing admission must be emailed to bhuntsberger@dcccd.edu.
Oct. 14 Students will be notified of their application points at the email address provided on the student's application.
Oct. 15-18

Student dispute period: Should an application issue arise, the student must email the nursing administrative assistant describing the problem. After the dispute period, all applications will be considered correct and no changes will be made.

Oct. 20 Students will be notified of interview status by 5 p.m.
TBA Interviews and professional writing samples are conducted.
TBA Candidates will receive an email regarding their admission status.
TBABy noon, candidates must email the nursing administrative assistant indicating admission acceptance or regrets.
Admitted nursing students are required to attend Success Camp. This activity is mandatory and the dates and times will be emailed as soon as they are determined.
