Mhakeda earned an Associate of Science and plans to transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington and eventually earn a doctorate. Her dream career is obstetrician/gynecologist.
“At DCCCD I’ve learned new learning styles and techniques. I’ve also been able to explore my leadership skills and explore opportunities of becoming a better version of myself. I found a family relationship with my former advisor, Candace Eldridge, which has made me feel closer to the school, especially with my family in the Caribbean.”
“DCCCD has been a great experience. It’s inexpensive and flexible. Be open-minded and honest with what you need, and you will be greatly assisted. Take advantage of the free tutors, labs and library. Get involved and explore the community we have. The organizations and honor society will have a great impact on you as an individual and will help you down a path of success.”
