Cynthia retired as Program Director of Library Services at Bill J. Priest/ El Centro College. Her role included providing instructional support through book collection development, creating reserves for disciplines, planning a periodical collection to mesh with instructional needs and requests, creating and rotating book displays to support and honor student activities and ethnic groups. One of Cynthia’s many strengths was mentoring students workers, one of whom became a permanent staff member.
She was a long-standing campus representative to the District Conference Day planning committee, an active member of the Texas Developmental Education Association, which she served as state president, and was the only community college representative on the National No Child Left Behind Project.
In retirement, Cynthia is a member and treasurer of Baylor Hospital Woman’s Auxiliary, a trustee for Dallas Business Women’s Charitable Trust, a member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church’s Off Campus Ministries Support Team, and served on the 2010 panel of readers for the Richardson School District PTA Writing Project essays. Cynthia is active in the retirees association.
