Dallas College Facilities Management and Planning is located in the East Building of the District Service Center at 4343 IH-30 in Mesquite. Facilities Management is responsible for the following areas:
- Architectural - preparation and review of plans and specifications for major projects and renovations to the campuses as they pertain to architecture.
- Interiors - preparation and review of plans and specifications for major projects and renovations to the campuses as they pertain to interior finishes and equipment.
- Engineering - planning, construction and maintenance of roads, structures, water supply, sewer, flood control, or traffic and parking lots.
- Mechanical - planning and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as plumbing and fire protection.
Facilities handles more than 900 projects worth over $70,000,000 each year. Selected projects are outsourced to preapproved architectural, mechanical and engineering firms. (See sidebar for inquiries as to how to be preapproved for A/E projects at Dallas College.)
The department is committed to using energy efficient and "sustainable design" whenever possible and works closely with Cedar Valley's Energy Efficient Green Building Institute to stay abreast of cutting edge techniques.

How do I get on the A/E List?
To be placed on the list of preapproved A/E firms, interested parties should contact the
Facilities Management Department to set up an interview. After the interview the facilities staff will recommend qualifying firms be placed on the list for selection to do work with Dallas College.
