Richland College’s program in International Business and Trade is a unique program that offers hands-on seminars and programs, as well as a working relationship with the North Texas District Export Council. According to the Dallas Office of Economic Development, the Dallas metroplex — the ninth largest area in the nation — is home to more than 2,250 global companies. The region’s foreign trade has more than tripled in the last decade and for the last 11 years, Texas has been the top state in the nation in terms of import and export trade dollars. With DFW International Airport, the third busiest passenger airport in the world for daily operations, Dallas is a city desperately needing goal-oriented workers with expertise in international business practices.

Workforce Solutions of Greater Dallas's targeted occupations lists eight separate business positions as high-growth areas this year. Projections include 26,000 jobs as general managers at an average of $60.80 per hour and 10,020 positions for business operations specialists at $37.87 per hour.
America's Career Infonet projects job growth increase of 20 percent for business operations specialists; 24 percent for sales representatives; 25 percent for marketing managers; and 20 percent for sales managers. High job increase is defined as annual growth over 10 percent.
U.S. News and World Report's Money Careers lists marketing manager as number 2, business operations manager as number 10, sales manager as number 13 and sales representative as number 15 in its top 25 "best business jobs."
