Dallas Doctors Hospice provides palliative (comfort) care as well as psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support to persons with life limiting illnesses who are no longer seeking curative treatment. The patient's family is included in the care provided at the home or nursing home. Students become fully acquainted with hospice from A-Z, how care is delivered, administration, business model, marketing. How services are paid for, ethical issues relevant to care for the dying including right to die and assisted suicide. Engage patients and families as a volunteer thru visits to offer respite to caregiving loved ones and offer practical assistance as running errands, reading, writing letters, and listening.
