The Dallas College Chancellor's Volunteer Service Award was created in 2020 to recognize students who complete at least 100 hours of approved Service Learning within a calendar year.
The honor is similar to the national President's Volunteer Service Award, which recognizes individuals whose volunteer service positively impacts their communities.
250 or more hours
Service Learning is more than volunteering. It combines academic instruction with active community service, utilizing critical, reflective thinking to examine the world around you and your civic responsibilities.
Students must work with their campus' Service Learning coordinator to meet all eligibility requirements. The coordinator will certify award recipients.
