Veterans Educational Transitions (VET)

What it is:

The Veterans Educational Transitions (VET) program is designed to accelerate program completion by awarding college credit for military experience in specific degree or certificate programs. 

Depending on your service branch and the training you received, you may be eligible for college credit, which can accelerate your completion of a Dallas College degree or certificate in the areas of:

If your military occupation or service training related to any of these program areas, you may be closer than you think to completing a degree or certificate. Even if you do not want to pursue the same field as a long-term career choice, these programs may help you to quickly enter the workforce as you continue your education. To determine the extent of your credit eligibility, follow the program links.

What you need:

The Joint Services Transcript (JST) or Air Force Community College transcript is the primary document needed to evaluate your military training. The JST will contain the needed ACE ID number to assess your individual training.

Where we are going:

Dallas College will continue to work through the College Credit for Heroes program to evaluate military training and award college credit based on the American Council on Education (ACE) Military Guide recommendations. Through this ongoing process, military training will be evaluated for application to additional Dallas College program areas. For up-to-date information, contact the Military-Connected Services Office at your Dallas College campus.

All current, separated and retired members of the U.S. armed services, active or reserve

Amazon Web Services Apprenticeship Program for Veterans (AWS)

Richland has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to help you get a head start on a new career in cloud computing with free AWS training.

The program will help veterans transition into the civilian workforce and develop the skills necessary to pursue high-demand jobs in the cloud computing space.
