It's Election Day!

This article appeared in the March 6, 2018  issue of the student newsletter.

As you may have heard, many Dallas voters cast their ballot during the early voting period. That’s great! But don’t worry, if you missed the early voting period we will hook you up – with information.

When voting on Election Day (which is today: Tuesday, March 6, 2018) you need to vote at your precinct.

Your precinct is usually the closest polling location to the address associated with your voter registration information.

Two quick ways to find your precinct number:

1. Look at your voter registration card under “Prec No” or

2. Search for the precinct by inserting your address into the Dallas County Votes' Precinct Lookup

Remember, voting in the Texas primary is like the Texas two-step; there is one foot on the right and another foot on the left. In other words, voters choose whether to vote in a Democratic primary or a Republican primary — you can only pick one.

Of course you still need to take your Texas driver's license, identification card, military ID or other form of ID

You my friend are ready to vote. If you need a refresher on the candidates, here is the Dallas News Voter Guide. Remember, the polls close at 7 p.m., thus if you are in line by 7 p.m. you will be allowed to vote.
