You Can Vote Early on Campus

This article appeared in a November 2016 issue of the student newsletter.

As the 2016 presidential election draws near, there is one major area of concern at the state and federal level – voter turnout.

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates tell us that 19,841,344 Texans will be eligible to vote. But voting trends show that less than half of these Texans will actually make it to the polls.

One way to make sure you get there? Vote early.

Voting early means smaller crowds and shorter lines. Also, life's unforeseen events are less likely to stop you from making it to the polls. A flat tire, bad traffic, poor directions … try again tomorrow! That is, until early voting closes. Then Nov. 8 is your last chance.

Vote Early on Campus

According to Dallas County Votes, "Dallas County registered voters may vote at any early voting location." This is much different from Election Day, when you can only vote at the voting precinct assigned to you.

View the list below for early voting times and locations at Dallas Community Colleges through Nov. 4. And don't forget to bring your photo ID!
