Back-to-School Parties

Ever heard the saying "work hard, play hard"? Well, now is your chance!

The first few weeks of classes will be packed with more than homework and books. There will be tons of back-to-school parties and student club meetings. Below is a breakdown of the official welcome back events at each of the seven Dallas Community Colleges. You can also view the calendar for additional campus gatherings

Brookhaven College

From a life-sized foosball game in the International Courtyard to a DJ spinning the latest hits in the Commons Courtyard, the Welcome Back Party at Brookhaven College has something for everyone. There will be plenty of free food to eat — grilled hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones — and lots of friends to meet (including student clubs and community vendors).

Cedar Valley College

You have your textbooks, picked out your classes and are ready to rock for fall. That's awesome! Start things right with a Back-to-School Party that gets your endorphins going and your stomach full. Join fellow students at Cedar Valley College for food, fun and new friends.

Eastfield College

The first week of classes is an exciting time, especially when you can win prizes! The Office of Student Engagement & Retention (OSER) will be hosting "Harvester W.O.W" — five days of giveaways, games and good ol' fashioned fun.

Join OSER for coffee, tea and sweet treats. A panel of college administrators will be there to get your questions answered for student success.

Welcome Week Luau
Friday, Sept. 2

Where can you watch professional hula dancers perform, play games, win prizes and meet friends? The Welcome Week Luau at Eastfield College! You definitely don't want to miss this Friday fun.

El Centro College

The Office of Student Life at El Centro College invites students to enjoy four days of fun at Fall Fest — a week of welcome back activities for returning students and incoming freshman.

Mountain View College

Surf’s Up, ride the wave to success! Come out and enjoy food and fun while meeting other Mountain View students as well as college faculty and staff. The fall Welcome Back Party is the perfect time to make connections and access helpful resources.

North Lake College

If you've been to the Welcome Back party at North Lake College before, you know it is one of the most well-attended events of the fall semester. There is plenty of free candy, and every student club on campus sets up a table to share information about its upcoming meetings and service projects. This year Student Life will be serving up hot dogs, lemonade, chips and cookies. There will be a dunk tank as well as inflatable sports games.

The second day of the Club Fair will be even bigger, with a full-out Back-to-School Bash! The party is the first big event of fall and the official kickoff to the new semester. Thunderducks will have the opportunity to join student organizations, identify campus resources, connect with old friends (and meet new ones)!
