DART Student GoPass FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my Student GoPass be valid with DART?

Your DART Student GoPass will be good through the end of the current semester.

  • For spring semester a pass is valid Jan. 1 – May 31.
  • For summer semester a pass is valid June 1 – Aug. 31.
  • For fall semester a pass is valid Sept. 1– Dec. 31.

Students eligible for the Student GoPass must maintain their hours (credit or contact hours) to continue to be eligible for the Student GoPass. A student who starts the semester as an eligible student could lose their Student GoPass if they drop or withdraw from classes.

Do I need to reapply for the Student GoPass each semester?

Yes, you will need to submit the Request Form for a Student GoPass each semester. This helps keep your information current in DART's system.

When can I get my Student GoPass?

You can request a Student Go Pass as soon as you register and pay for your classes. You do not need to wait until Certification Day.

Once you submit the Request Form you will receive an email (the following Monday) from eConnectStudentCommunications@dcccd.edu with an update on your eligibility status.

If you currently meet the eligibility requirements, the email will inform you that your Student GoPass will appear in your GoPass mobile app within two business days. If you do not currently meet the eligibility requirements, however, the email will tell you how you can become eligible.

What is a smart phone?

The Oxford dictionary defines a smart phone as "any mobile phone that performs many of the functions of a computer, typically having a touchscreen interface, internet access and an operating system capable of running downloaded applications."

Can I participate in the Student GoPass program if I don’t have a smart phone?

Yes you can. A physical Student GoPass will be issued. Please follow the steps below.

Note: Lost physical passes and DART decals will not be replaced.

  1. First, be sure you have paid your tuition either by direct payment, through financial aid or by setting up a payment plan.
  2. Next, have your photo taken at school (if you haven't already).
  3. Third, request your Student GoPass by filling out the Request Form.
  4. Visit your college's Business Office. The earliest a physical pass can be issued is the 12th Class Day of the semester.  View the Academic Calendar to see specific dates.

Are all DCCCD locations participating in the Student GoPass program?

No. Students who are attending classes at El Centro College only (not any other Dallas Community College) should not request a DART Student GoPass until Fall 2017, when El Centro’s current DART contract expires. Until that time they must continue to request a free DART decal sticker through the El Centro College Business Office.

Are Early College High School students eligible for the program?

Yes, all Early College High School (ECHS) students who currently meet the eligibility requirements may apply for a DART Student GoPass. This includes students attending Richland Collegiate High School.

What if my phone number changes after I register in the GoPass app?

You must notify your college’s Business Office of the change. They will complete a GoPass Deactivation & Reassignment form to be emailed to DART. Once received by DART, it will take two business days for the change to be made.

You will need to uninstall and reinstall the GoPass app and register your new phone number. Please remember, it may take a few days for your Student GoPass to be reassigned to a new phone number.
