TRIO Student Support Services at Mountain View

The Mountain View TRIO (SSS) program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education to provide services to first generation and low-income students to help them be successful in college while pursuing an academic degree and/or certificate.

We also provide services to qualified students with disabilities.

Mission Statement

TRIO-Student Support Services promotes self reliance and empowerment through our academic support and individual guidance for students pursuing an associate degree and successfully transferring to a four-year college or university.

What is TRIO SSS?

TRIO- Student Support Services (SSS) program is one of three TRIO programs originally funded under the Higher Education Act of 1965, with the objective of helping students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to complete their college education. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, SSS is committed to helping low-income, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities receive a bachelor’s degree.

Mountain View TRIO (SSS) program was first funded in 2001 and annually provides individual and group services to 230 program-eligible students. TRIO (SSS) services are provided at no cost to program participants. Students participate in TRIO (SSS) throughout their enrollment at Mountain View.
