Before using Collaborate Ultra for the first time, you must adjust some settings in your internet browser so that you can be seen and heard.
Note: The supported browsers are Google Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari.
Steps to Set Up Audio and Video
Step 1: When you try to
join a Collaborate Ultra session, pop-ups will display asking you to allow us.bbcollab.com to use your microphone and camera. Select Allow for both pop-ups so that you can be seen and heard.
Step 2: Use the drop-down menu to select your microphone, such as a built-in microphone in your device or an attached headset microphone.
Step 3: Check that your microphone is working by speaking and watching the purple bar to the right of the microphone icon.
Step 4: If the purple audio bar moves as you speak, choose
Yes. Audio is working.
If audio is not working, choose
No. I need help. You will be redirected to a support page with instructions to help you troubleshoot. If you need more help, please contact the Student Service Desk at 1-866-374-7169 (Dual Credit: 972-669-6555).
Step 5: Check your video preview. It shows what other participants in the session will see.
Step 6: Choose
Share Video when you are ready to join the session with your camera on.
Note: Once you are in the Collaborate Ultra session, you can turn your microphone and camera on/off at any time by selecting the microphone and video camera icons at the bottom center of the screen. If the icon has a slash through it, that tool is turned off.
