1. Eligibility
All Parent Promise scholars who remain eligible and complete an associate degree from Dallas College with at least a 2.000 GPA, or those who already hold an associate degree, can receive a last-dollar, tuition-only scholarship to UNT Dallas for the bachelor’s program and a one-time $1000 scholarship towards a graduate program for those who already hold a bachelor’s degree.
*Students wishing to transfer to UNT Dallas before completing an associate degree are ineligible to receive a Promise Scholarship and would fall into the UNT Dallas standard transfer scholarship policies and process.
2. Application
Parent Promise scholars must declare their intent to transfer to UNT Dallas by March 5, 2021, by completing the
Parent Promise University Transfer Form
Beginning July 1 in the year before transfer (i.e., July 1, 2020, if starting Fall 2021) and no later than January 1 (i.e., January 1, 2021, if starting Fall 2021) Parent Promise scholars must complete the following:
- Submit a Transfer Apply TX application (if you have 30 or more semester credit hours) on
ApplyTexas for UNT Dallas.
- Submit a $40 non-refundable application fee or fee waiver.
- Submit official transcripts from ALL previously attended and/or currently enrolled colleges/universities.
3. Payments and Renewal
Once enrolled at UNT Dallas, Parent Promise scholars must maintain the following to remain eligible:
- Maintain a 2.500 cumulative GPA while meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
- GPA is calculated at the end of each year, inclusive of the summer semester, with progress reports each semester. Developmental course GPAs do not factor into the UNT Dallas GPA.
- Program-specific requirements for higher GPAs may be required for certain academic programs.
- Please refer to the UNT Dallas established policies on repeated and dropped courses.
- Successfully complete 15 credit hours per academic year. An academic year includes fall, spring and summer semesters.

*Students wishing to transfer to MSU before completing an associate degree are ineligible to receive a Promise Scholarship and would fall into the MSU standard transfer scholarship policies and process.

*Students wishing to transfer to Texas&M Commerce before completing an associate degree are ineligible to receive a Promise Scholarship and would fall into the Texas A&M Commerce standard transfer scholarship policies and process.

*Students wishing to transfer to Texas Woman’s University before completing an associate degree are ineligible to receive a Promise Scholarship and would fall into the Texas Woman’s University standard transfer scholarship policies and process.
