In certain cases, the Financial Aid Office may be able to adjust your cost of attendance to accommodate additional expenses. These expenses may include daycare, additional allowances for supplies that are higher than the included amount in the current cost of attendance or any other expense that may be needed. These adjustments are considered on a case-by- case basis and will require appropriate documentation to justify the change. Please visit the Financial Aid Office nearest you to request the Cost of Attendance adjustment.

How Estimated Costs of Attendance Affect Financial Aid

The costs of attendance (COA) figures in the chart above provide an estimate of what it costs to attend Dallas College for a traditional nine-month academic year. Your actual expenses may vary, but the standard amounts allowed for each COA component provided on this page are used to determine financial aid eligibility. Each financial aid applicant is assigned a COA according to how the student fits into the classifications in the chart.

The Financial Aid Office must make sure that the combined total of federal, state or local financial aid awarded does not exceed a student’s COA. The COA for Dallas College is revised and recorded annually with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Net Price Calculator

The Net Price Calculator was designed to give an estimate of financial aid through a series of about 10 to 15 questions similar to those listed on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It does not replace the need for students to complete the FAFSA.
