Anita Gordy-Watkins has been named associate vice chancellor of global economic development. Ben Magill is the district’s executive director of labor market Intelligence.

They will work on stimulating solid economic growth with an emphasis on education, training and recruitment.

DCCCD is at the forefront of developing partnerships with area businesses and creating a new generation of skilled laborers, said Mark Hays, vice chancellor for workforce and economic development.

“These two bring a wealth of knowledge and talent and contacts,” Hays said. “They will help chambers of commerce and businesses grow and commit them to our students.”

DCCCD is partnering with area employers to broaden job opportunities for students and graduates while providing a sustainable work environment. The goal is to push thousands of trained, educated workers into the middle class, Hays said.

Gordy-Watkins’ most recent position was executive vice president of Oklahoma State University’s Institute of Technology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing education and a master’s degree in human resource development from OSU.

She is an accomplished labor marketing expert with a history of providing employers with a trained and accomplished workforce.
