Jerry Wallace was a member of Richland's faculty when it admitted students for the first time in 1972. Until his retirement almost 40 years later, he taught music theory to thousands of students, many of whom went on to enjoy outstanding careers in the field. A scholarship in his honor is given to a deserving student each year. He continues to teach and inspire pianists through his private lessons. He also volunteers to play at many civic and philanthropic events in the community.
