Steve began his 30-year career as the Director of Admissions/Registrar at North Lake College in 1979. Through the years, Steve's involved in the student recruitment in developing the registration system, beginning with punch cards, labels and finally the online Datatel system. He worked with others in the district to develop the procedural changes necessary to comply with changing state and federal regulations.
Steve shared his administrative management experience at the state and national meetings of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers. He also served, held in Dallas, as publicity chair for the 1992 national meeting of this organization. Steve has contributed his time to community activities since his retirement. He and his wife moved to San Diego in 2009 to be near their daughter and family. Their son lives in New York City. Steve served as Head Trustee in his church, is an officer in the Poway Stamp Club and has worked on campaign committees for 52nd District Congressional candidates. He and his wife prepare and deliver meals to people confined to their homes because of illness.
They have enjoyed frequent travel - most recently to Spain, Morocco, and South America. Perhaps most enjoyable for him is being Grandpa-in-Chief to their four young granddaughters.
