My artwork narrates the Crimean Tatar’s deep culture and traditions to which I belong. Sgraffito and traditional shapes are integral parts of my work. The combinations of floral and traditional elements, called Ornek, carry a magic value. Details such as tulips represent masculinity and almonds represent femininity. Working with clay is a deep meditation process that allows me to touch the past and fulfill my goal to be a part of my culture revival.

I moved to the USA from Ukraine, Crimea five years ago. A year after, I discovered the ceramic class at Dallas College North Lake Campus. Since then, it has become an integral part of my life. Clay is a meditative material that opens horizons and allows my creativity and imagination to go wild.
