Continuing Education (CE) Courses and Certificates

Continuing education provides unique educational opportunities to stimulate the mind, promote professional advancement and encourage the pursuit of personal interests. These courses increase your knowledge and skills. You will not earn “traditional” credits toward a degree, although you may earn Continuing Education Units or CEUs (which will appear on a transcript). Some courses may last only a couple of hours; others may meet over several weeks. Some courses are available online.

A wide variety of CE courses and programs are offered by the colleges of DCCCD. What are you interested in learning more about? Which direction do you see your future career going?

College Credit Courses, Degrees and Certificates

With more than 100 majors featuring one- and two-year certificates and degrees, we strive to help you build a rewarding and fulfilling career. We also offer Core credit courses that are guaranteed to transfer to any public Texas college or university.

What’s the difference between continuing education and college credit courses?

College credit courses apply toward college or university degrees and certificates. Credit courses provide students the option to transfer to another college or university or to go directly into the workforce. Core Curriculum courses are guaranteed to transfer to any public Texas college or university.

In addition to college credit classes, you can take courses to improve your personal or workforce skills. These continuing education (CE)/noncredit courses do not offer college credit but may apply toward industry credentials or other workplace certificates.
