Having learned to work on cars with his father from a young age, Hugo Kosteski also realized early on the importance of more structured education. The blend between hands-on experience, educational materials and technology is one which he still uses today as an instructor. As a bilingual English-Spanish speaker, he gained invaluable cross-cultural experience throughout his career that motivated him to pay special attention to students' interpersonal skills. His goal is to encourage his students to pursue their dreams regardless of challenges and to provide them the best learning experience by respecting their individual abilities.
He holds three automotive associate degrees from the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Illinois, and a bachelor's degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is certified as an ASE Master Automobile Technician, with A1 through A9 certifications, as well as several other specialty certifications. He also taught automotive technology classes at the Eagle Valley campus of Colorado Mountain College in Vail; was an adjunct instructor at the College of Lake County; and worked as a mechanic for Abbot Laboratories in North Chicago and in Argentina.
