Michael Santiago has worked in the field of criminal justice as a law enforcement officer or educator since 1977. He holds a master’s degree in criminal justice administration and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science from the University of Central Texas in Killeen.
From 1977 to 1992, Mr. Santiago served with the Police Department of Killeen, where he worked as a patrol officer, as an investigator in the Crimes Against Persons Division, in the Internal Affairs Unit and in the Training Division, where he served as police academy coordinator and as a patrol supervisor.
He also served at Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas, as the director of specialized law enforcement training for the Coastal Bend Council of Governments Regional Police Academy. Mr. Santiago has taught at Temple College, as the department chair; at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor; and at Tarleton State University before coming to Eastfield College in September 2007.
