Renor Shumpert started her professional career with the Internal Revenue Service in 1998. During her 21-year tenure there, she held positions as an internal revenue agent, program coordinator, tax-exempt group manager and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) branch manager and technical advisor.
Committed to the principles of equal employment and diversity, she has worked extensively with people with disabilities and has partnered with the business community to educate employees on the importance and significant role of diversity in the workplace. She has served as a volunteer for the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the United Way Grant Program, Dispute Mediation Services, Galaxy Counseling and the Center for Non-Profit Management.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Miss., and a master’s degree in professional counseling from Amberton University in Garland. She is a 2008 graduate of the Dallas Blueprints for Leadership program, sponsored by the Center for Non-profit Management. A certified public accountant (CPA), she is trained in mediation and certified in managing workplace conflict.
