Adjunct Bakery/Pastry Instructor

Julia Crowell teaches Fundamentals of Baking, Advanced Pastry and Laminated Doughs classes. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in English, was a software engineer “forever,” and then decided to go to culinary school at El Centro, where she graduated with a degree in Baking and Pastry.

After working for 10 years as a pastry chef, she went to work at Le Cordon Bleu as a culinary and pastry instructor, and then happily came “home” to El Centro to teach. She enjoys seeing her students accomplish things they didn't know they could do and has had several students go on to start their own businesses.
