Tim Young is a licensed veterinary technician and a graduate of Cedar Valley's Veterinary Technology program. He began teaching at the college in 2012 and is a faculty member of both the distance education program and the on-site program. A two-time winner of the Excellence in Teaching Award, he has taught Anatomy and Physiology, Introduction to Veterinary Technology, Vet Tech Technical Math, Clinical Pathology 1 and 2, and Pharmacy and Pharmacology.
He holds an associate degree in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley, Bachelor of Science degrees in psychology and sociology from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri and a Master of Science degree in management from Abilene Christian University. He served for more than 20 years as an Air Force flight and academic instructor but left to nurture his lifelong interest in veterinary medicine, especially in birds. He also raises and shows border collies.
In addition to being an instructor at the school, Tim works for his local veterinarian during holidays and weekends. He has more than 22 years of teaching experience and is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), the Veterinary Team Association of Texas (VTAT) and the Association of American Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE).
