Melanie Hollis is a licensed veterinary technician (LVT) and graduated from Cedar Valley's Veterinary Technology program in 2003. She is pursuing a Bachelors of Applied Science degree in veterinary technology from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas.
In more than 30 years in veterinary medicine, she has worked in small animal general practice, emergency critical care, small animal internal medicine and large animal and equine practice. She has also served as an instructor of certified veterinary assisting at Collin College and the University of Texas at Arlington for four years.
Melanie has been an executive board member on the state veterinary technician association, the Veterinary Team Association of Texas (formerly TARVT), for four years. She is a member of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE), the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS). She has been a guest lecturer at local and regional veterinary conferences and has served as a course moderator on the Veterinary Support Staff Personnel Network (VSPN) for five years. She was a volunteer at the Dallas Zoo for two years.
