Julia Harryman received her associate degree in Radiologic Sciences from El Centro College in 1999. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in radiologic science from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls and a master’s degree in education from Lamar University in Beaumont.
She served as an adjunct clinical instructor in the Radiologic Sciences positioning lab at El Centro for two years before assuming a full-time faculty position in fall 2007. From 2009 to 2012, she served as associate dean of the college’s Allied Health programs.
In 2012, she began working with her husband in a new venture starting their own technology company, putting her master’s degree in technology leadership into practice. After several years of growing their business (while remaining adjunct faculty at El Centro) she has come back to her first love -- teaching Radiologic Sciences full time.
Ms. Harryman served as a staff technologist at Doctors Hospital in Dallas (now Baylor Scott and White- White Rock Lake) for nine years before she began teaching. She holds credentials as a registered radiologic technologist, RT(R), with an additional specialization in mammography (M).
She holds a certificate in radiography (R) and advanced certificate in mammography (M) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). She was one of the North Texas Imaging Society’s Top 25 Technologists in 2009; an El Centro Distinguished Alumnus in 2011; a Sharing Life Community Outreach “Faithful Friend” service award in 2014; and a DCCCD Excellence in Teaching award for adjunct faculty in 2015-2016.
