Deborah A. Smith, M.S.N., RN

Deborah A. Smith holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Texas Woman’s University and earned her nursing diploma from Harper Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit.

She served as a clinical nurse educator at St. Paul Hospital for three years and has also served as a staff nurse at Parkland and St. Paul hospitals in Dallas, Westgate Hospital in Denton and Methodist Charlton Medical Center. In addition, she was assistant head nurse at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

She has taught in El Centro’s Associate Degree Nursing program since 2005, previously serving as a faculty member for 15 years in the college’s Vocational Nursing program.

She is a member of the Texas Association of Vocational Nurse Educators, the El Centro College Faculty Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
