Michael Bobbitt has more than 25 years of experience in nursing leadership. His experience has encompassed critical care, regulatory compliance, hospice care and long-term care, having managed large clinical teams at multiple sites and across several states. He is a contract investigator through the Department of Health and Human Services, where he has worked as a full-time investigator and surveyor for more than seven years.
He was named D Magazine's Excellence in Nursing award winner in long-term care in 2014 and also that year was the subject of an article titled "Wanted: Qualified Nurse Leader" in the May Issue of Long Term Living. He was named Nursing Administrator of the Year for the southwest region of the National Association of the Directors of Nursing Administration in 2013.
Mr. Bobbit began his nursing career in 1991 after graduating from the Wharton County Junior College Associate Degree Nursing program in Wharton, Texas. He holds a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications and marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
He holds certification as a Certified Director of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care (CDONA). He serves as the president for the Texas Association of Directors of Nursing Administration and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
