Brenda Shupe, M.S.N., RN

Brenda Shupe, a DCCCD employee for more than 21 years, was one of three people hired to write the study plan for initial accreditation of Brookhaven’s nursing program. She also chaired the college’s committee for writing the self-study for the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC).

She holds a master’s degree in nursing administration and bachelor’s degree in nursing from California State University in Bakersfield, as well as a certificate in gerontology from the University of North Texas.
 
Additional training includes certification as a Level V healing touch practitioner apprentice and as a Level IV healing touch practitioner for animals. She also completed an online faculty training course with the University of Phoenix.
 
She is a lifetime member of the Nursing Alumni Chapter of California State University at Bakersfield and was listed in the 2004-2005 edition of Who’s Who among America’s teachers.
