Program Coordinator and Faculty, Medical Front Office, Brookhaven College
Nehal Rangnekar joined Brookhaven College in 2009 as an adjunct faculty member and became a full-time faculty member in 2013. She serves as the program coordinator and faculty for the Medical Front Office program at Brookhaven College.
She holds a master’s degree in biochemistry and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, both from University of Mumbai, India. She has completed a diploma program in computer studies from the Bureau of Information Technology Studies in India, a certificate program in Medical Assisting from El Centro College and a certificate program in Medical Coding and Billing from Collin College.
She teaches Medical Terminology, Medical Records Management, Computer Fundamentals, Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, Health Information Systems, Medical Insurance and Computer Applications I courses for the Medical Front Office program at Brookhaven College. She is a continuing education instructor teaching Medical Coding and Pathophysiology courses for the health care division at Collin College and served as an adjunct instructor in El Centro’s Medical Assisting program teaching Medical Insurance and Health Data Content and Structure courses. She also was a Microsoft Office applications instructor in India.
She is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) and Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. She is a certified professional coder, certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
“Just the idea that I can make a difference in a student’s life by sharing information gives me great inspiration and motivation to continue teaching for as long as I can,” she says.
