Denise Griffin began working in the DCCCD in 2006. She teaches courses full time in Health Professions Readiness and as adjunct faculty in Medical Laboratory Technology at El Centro.She holds a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and a Master’s of Health Sciences (M.H.S.) degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She also attended Delgado Community College in New Orleans and holds a graduate certificate in instructional design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
She is certified as a medical technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology, with the designation MT(ASCP), and also as a specialist in blood banking (SBB) by the Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans. She was awarded a Quality Matters award, a quality assurance award for meeting high standards of online education, for teaching the HPRS 2201 course at El Centro in 2016. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the Texas Association of Clinical Laboratory Scientists (TACLS).
