Sandra Saucedo Scott has served as full-time faculty for Eastfield Child Development and Teacher Preparation courses since 1988. She holds a master’s degree in family studies and child development and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with specializations in literacy and early childhood education, both from Texas Woman’s University.
She began her career with the colleges of DCCCD as tutor coordinator in the Special Services division at Cedar Valley College, where she also served as Hispanic liaison to the president, in charge of recruiting Hispanic students and helping to identify their specific needs. In 1987, she became consultant to the chancellor for Community Development.
She was selected to appear in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers in 1996, 2005 and 2006. She also received the NISOD Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Collin County Association for the Education of Young Children.
