Vince Aurentz

Vince Aurentz was born in Killeen, Texas, but he grew up on military bases around the world. After graduating high school when he was 17 years old, he joined the Dallas Police Department where he worked for the next 40 years. He had a background in construction and fabrication and a desire to learn more. He came to DCCCD as a student in 2008 and gradually improved his welding skills. His instructor's credentials and project management skills were already in place and he has spent the last nine years learning the trade and honing his skills. He started with Bill J. Priest as a project manager/instructor in 2017.

Vince is an excellent project management professional with more than 25 years of experience. He is an experienced welder with the ability to weld on various types of metals using multiple processes. Vince displays a keen attention to detail, machine troubleshooting, and basic repairs. He has a strong passion for teaching others using the knowledge he has, but he remains open to learning new teaching methods. Vince has a strong knowledge of hand and power tools used in the welding and fabricating trade. He has excellent customer service skills necessary to interact with businesses and students from various backgrounds. Vince's favorite saying is "one man's trash is another man's treasure." He has fabricated some amazing projects, all from repurposed materials. Vince always brings in a student on whatever project he is working on to teach them the tricks of the trade.
