Instructor, Workforce Training
Bill J. Priest Institute

Christopher Thomas is a DFW native, DCCCD alumnus and U.S. Air Force veteran. He is also the lead instructor and developer for the industrial automation program housed in the Bill J. Priest Institute, where he trains students to diagnose, troubleshoot and build complex automated controlled systems.

Thomas first entered the doors of Bill J. Priest Institute as a student looking for new skills to complement his résumé. He decided to earn a Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Certificate and, shortly after graduation, he was given the opportunity to train one of DCCCD Workforce Development's business partners. Today, Thomas' immense passion for teaching is his primary motivation in ensuring the programs housed at Bill J. Priest are second to none – both regarding student success and knowledge gained.

Before working with the Bill J. Priest Institute, Thomas gained more than 15 years of experience in a variety of industrial fields ranging from automation and robotics to project management, network engineering, aeronautics, logistics and manufacturing.
