Linda Ridgway began her teaching career with the colleges of DCCCD, as an adjunct professor in 1974, teaching art classes at El Centro, Brookhaven and North Lake colleges until she became a full-time instructor at Cedar Valley College in 1987. She also taught at the University of Texas at Dallas and at SMU as a visiting professor in sculpture. She currently teaches painting, drawing, two-dimensional design, printmaking and life drawing.

She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Louisville School of Art in Anchorage, Ky., and her Master of Fine Arts degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. An accomplished artist, Ms. Ridgway has had solo exhibitions in Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Francisco, New Orleans and New York and has participated in numerous group exhibitions around the country.

Awards include a 2002 National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) Excellence Award from the University of Texas at Austin; selection as the 2002 Cedar Valley Minnie Stevens Piper Professor, a premier recognition for collegiate teaching excellence at two- and four-year public and private colleges; Dallas Visual Art Center’s Legend Award in 2001; and the Art League of Houston’s Artist of the Year Award in 1999.
