Eastfield College

Dr. Micheal Hutchins has taught CADD classes at Eastfield College since the college opened in 1970 and served as the program’s coordinator for many years. Prior to teaching at Eastfield College he taught drafting and woodworking for three years at the high school in Greenville, Texas.

He holds an associate degree in CADD from Mountain View College, a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial education, a Master of Science degree in secondary and higher education and a Doctor of Education degree in vocational and technical educational from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, now known as Texas A&M University-Commerce.

He worked as a personal drafter for a design engineer at Atlantic Richfield, R&D Division. He has also worked at various construction sites including highway and bridge construction, poured-in-place and pre-cast concrete construction, framing of residential homes and arch-timber/beam construction for churches, as well as plant construction for oil and gas refining.

Dr. Hutchins has also taught AutoCAD classes as an adjunct faculty member for El Centro College’s Interior Design Department.
