Wayne Conrad, M.A.

Adjunct HDEV Faculty and Interim Reading Lab Coordinator

Wayne Conrad began teaching English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) courses as an adjunct instructor at El Centro College in January 1998. He has taught reading skills, Developmental Reading and Human Development classes and was the interim director of the college’s Learning Center before assuming his current position.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Louisiana College in Pineville and a master’s degree in leadership from Criswell College and Seminary in Dallas. He also holds a graduate certificate in ESOL linguistics from Texas A&M University and has taken 18 graduate hours of psychology.

He received the Excellence in Teaching Award for adjunct faculty in 2003 from El Centro College’s Communications and Math Division and has taught graduate courses in India at two seminaries during short-term intensive semesters in 1998, 2004 and 2005. He is a member of the Association for the Tutoring Profession, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages and Texas Community College Teachers Association.
