Sam Govea, M.S.

Sam Govea received his bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Criswell College in Dallas and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from the University of North Texas. He has taught at Brookhaven College since 2004. In addition to teaching Human Development classes, he also teaches Developmental Psychology, Introduction to Psychology and English as a Second Language for noncredit students.

Prior to teaching at Brookhaven, he worked as a career counselor, academic advisor and unit supervisor at Timberlawn Mental Health System in Dallas. He also sponsors Brookhaven’s Psychology Club, in which students interested in psychology have networking opportunities and go on subject-related field trips together. The club sponsors events on campus that increase awareness of the importance of mental health and improve the overall mental well-being of the student population.
