Shaun Gilligan has been a full-time faculty member of the Government Department at Cedar Valley College since Fall 2011. Before that, he taught as an adjunct instructor for Richland College, beginning in Fall 2009. He holds a bachelor’s degree cum laude in political science from Trinity University in San Antonio and a master’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin, with concentrations in political theory, public law and American political institutions and processes.

He is a member of the American Political Science Association and the Texas Community College Teachers Association. He serves as the Cedar Valley College Faculty Association president. His research interests include modern and contemporary political theory, critical social theory, constitutional law and American political culture.
