Phoenix Rousseau holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in government from Texas Woman’s University and joined Eastfield’s faculty in 2005. Ms. Rousseau spent 11 years living in the Middle East, returning to Texas after the invasion of Kuwait by Iraq at the beginning of Operation Desert Shield.
After spending a decade in a region where the political and social processes are so different from those of the United States, it seemed appropriate to her to study American government, and her experiences abroad also led her to want to share her knowledge of the government the founding fathers of the United States provided.
Thus her goal in teaching government is that her students will learn an appreciation of our country’s unique and special system of government. She also wants to give her students an understanding of the integral part each and every person plays in the life of that government.
