Jonathon York holds a Master of Arts degree in politics from the University of Dallas in Irving and began teaching Government and Political Science at Mountain View College in 2005. He has previously taught at North Lake College, from 2001 to 2005; at Brookhaven College in 1999; and at the Northwest Campus of Tarrant County College from 2001 to 2003.

A member of the American Political Science Association (APSA) since 2001, he is affiliated with APSA’s Indigenous Studies Network and has contributed to their publication Returning to the Circle, published by the University of New Mexico Press. His primary research interests include formal political theory, the semantics of political ideology, foundations of political thought, and the indigenous politics of the Americas. He maintains an active presence at Mountain View College as a volunteer for the Instructional Support Center and as a participant and co-advisor for student organizations for Political Science and Astrophysics.
