Gay Michele

El Centro College

Gay Michele attended Eastfield and El Centro colleges herself, then earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a master’s degree from Amberton University. She has done post-graduate work at the University of North Texas, Walden University and Texas A&M University-Commerce and is a licensed professional counselor with a small private practice. 

Michele teaches government at El Centro College and is also creating a course in Cultural Studies 2370 (Human Rights) for the college to offer in the fall of 2007. Before becoming a full-time faculty member in 2005, she taught as adjunct faculty for 15 years. In 1992 she received an Excellence in Teaching Award for adjunct faulty.

She was elected a precinct chair in her community in 1990 and has served as an election judge since 1990. She is also a member of the American Political Science Association.
