On-Site Veterinary Technology Program

About the On-Site Program

Thank you for your interest in the Veterinary Technology program at Cedar Valley. Our on-campus program, established in 1977, was one of the first Veterinary Technology programs in the United States to be accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Additionally, our distance learning program, established in 1997, was one of the first online programs in Veterinary Technology and is the only American Animal Hospital Association-affiliated program. Our graduates are recognized as outstanding veterinary technicians. We are proud of the success of our graduates, and faculty and staff guide and encourage students in their studies as they work to create their own success stories.

How to Get Started

Applications for the on-site program are accepted during the spring semester for admission the following fall. Criteria for admission include completion of prerequisites, GPA and experience working with animals. Students who have not completed the prerequisites for admission to the associate degree program prior to the application deadline may begin with the Veterinary Assisting Certificate. All classes required for the certificate apply to the AAS degree, and students who successfully complete the Veterinary Assisting Certificate are guaranteed admission to the AAS program the following fall. Please go here for instructions on applying to the to the on-campus program for either the AAS degree or the Veterinary Assisting Certificate.
