Music at North Lake

The Music program at North Lake provides a broad base of experience to build basic musicianship skills through classes that will transfer to any public Texas college as the first two years in a baccalaureate-level Music degree.

The North Lake Music program is expanding its offerings of performance ensemble and digital music classes to better serve the needs of the community. We continue to offer course work in music theory, musicianship and jazz improvisation for all levels of musicians, as well as general education music appreciation and entry-level courses in piano, guitar and voice, which are open to all students. Private music lessons are also available for students participating in ensembles.

If you are working toward a four-year Music degree or wish to pursue a Music minor, consult with the full-time music faculty for advising specific to your musical interests. Transferring students must satisfy the competency and proficiency requirements of the receiving institution.

Students enrolled in a one-credit hour MUEN course can qualify to enroll in 30-minute applied private lessons. Visit our Applied Music Courses page or email 7music@dcccd.edu for further details.
