John Samuel earned Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in management from the University of Texas at Arlington. He began working at Dallas College in 1982 as an adjunct faculty member and became a full-time faculty member at El Centro in 1983. Mr. Samuel has also taught at Mountain View and has taught numerous short courses in specialized subjects to Civil Air Patrol (CAP) personnel.
Related professional experience includes a total of 14 years working as a production control specialist for Otis Engineering Corp., data and documentation manager for Mostek Corp., production control manager for Texttool Products Inc. and manufacturing engineering assistant for Texas Instruments Inc. He has also designed, implemented and maintained an extensive Civil Air Patrol website.
He holds credentials and certifications in Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Academic Instructor (CCAI) and Certified Production and Inventory Control Management (CPIM) and is rated CAP pilot and master observer and mission coordinator. Mr. Samuel has completed all Cisco Instructor-level training required to teach Cisco Networking Academy courses in CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security, Cisco Wireless and Cisco Security.
He holds the following Civil Air Patrol awards: Distinguished Service Medal, two Exceptional Service awards, four Meritorious Service awards, 10 Commander’s Commendation awards, four Unit Citation awards and the Gill Robb Wilson Award.
