Fire Protection Technology at El Centro

Program Locations

Courses are offered at both El Centro's downtown campus (801 Main St.) and the Bill J. Priest Campus (1402 Corinth St., just south of I-30 and downtown Dallas). Check the ​current semester class schedule for the location of a specific course.

Developing Skills for Success

The Fire Protection Technology program includes a core of technical ​as well as academic courses — such as computer applications, speech communication and business — for a well-rounded education. Program-specific courses include:

Accreditation and Affiliations

El Centro’s Fire Protection Technology program is a licensed fire academy through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection. The program offers continuing education courses for firefighters, such as Arson Investigation and Fire Officer I and II.

The program aligns with the national model developed by the U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Academy to create a standard fire technology curriculum for institutions across the country.​
