Taking English classes at Richland is an affordable way to get started on a path to a brighter future. Whether you’re taking classes to transfer to a four-year college or university, or for personal enrichment, our curriculum will give you the foundational skills you need.
Reading and writing, along with speaking and listening, are inherently valuable and useful activities through which students gain an understanding of themselves and the world. The interaction of these activities promotes both individual growth and a sense of community through the use of language. This philosophy of reading and writing connects and unifies our many courses — English as a Second Language, Developmental Reading and Writing, freshman composition courses and sophomore writing and literature courses.
