Accreditation Information

The School of Education offers both state and nationally accredited degree and certificate programs at the associate and bachelor’s degree levels. The Associate of Applied Science in Child Development/Early Childhood (AAS) at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children  (NAEYC). The current accreditation term runs from March 1, 2017, through March 31, 2024.

The School of Education’s newest program, the Baccalaureate Degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching, has been approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

Additionally, the School of Education offers a number of industry-approved certificates attainable through continuing education pathways. Most recently, the School of Education was approved to offer an Education Preparation Program (EPP) — TEACH at Dallas College — by the State Board of Educator Certification. Teaching candidates seeking Texas teacher certification can pursue teacher licensure through undergraduate and postbaccalaureate pathways.
